- Up to 28 hrsSupervised (graded) self-instruction: graded audio/video, graded correspondence, and graded computer courses with a testing mechanism, capped at 80% of the requirement (28 of 35 hours).
- Up to 3.5 hrsNon-supervised self-instruction: ungraded home study journals/publications, ungraded correspondence, educational TV, audio/video, study clubs, capped at 10% of the requirement (3.5 of 35 hours).
- Up to 3.5 hrsScientific papers/publications/presentations and teaching or research appointments, each capped at 10% of the requirement (3.5 of 35 hours).
- RequiredCurrent comprehensive basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification for a health care provider (adult, child, and infant resuscitation; two-person rescuer; barrier/bag ventilation; foreign body airway obstruction; AED).
